The adopter(s) agrees to pay an adoption fee (if required) to cover costs incurred on behalf of the pet
The adopter(s) agrees that this pet will wear a collar with a current rabies tag at all times (dogs).
The adopter(s) agrees to comply with all state and local ordinances regarding the licensing, housing, and restraint of this pet, if it applies.
The adopter(s) agrees that if, for any reason, they are unable to keep the pet or provide adequate care and shelter, the pet shall be transferred immediately to Innocent Angels Sanctuary, at the adopter(s)' expense.
The adopter(s) agrees to provide adequate shelter for this pet, which is to be indoors. For dogs that have outdoor access, the adopter(s) asserts that they have a securely fenced yard or go on leashed walks. Cats are to be indoor-only, except if they also have access to a fully enclosed outdoor area or a prior arrangement been made with adopting a feral pet.
The adopter(s) agrees that Innocent Angels Sanctuary makes no explicit or implicit guarantees as to the health or temperament of the pet. The pet is adopted "as is" and the adopter(s) agrees to assume all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur throughout the lifespan of this pet.
The adopter(s) agrees that many of the pets at Innocent Angels Sanctuary come from unknown backgrounds and that any estimates of age, breed/breed mix, and health conditions are "best guesses" based on the animals' teeth, appearance, and veterinary assessment.
The adopter(s) agrees to take on the financial responsibility of this pet, including, but not limited to, feeding, housing, routine annual vaccinations, and veterinary care, and that Innocent Angels Sanctuary will not be held responsible for any additional expenses related to this pet.
The adopter(s) agrees to not transfer ownership of the pet to any other person(s) or organization, except for temporary boarding purposes.
The adopter(s) agrees to register this pets' microchip to their address within 30 days of this adoption and that the address information will be updated with the microchip company in the event that the adopter(s) move.
The adopter(s) agrees that they are allowed to have pets in their home as per ownership of the home or terms of their rental agreement.
The adopter(s) agrees to take the pet with them in the event of a move.
The adopter(s) agrees that if this adoption does not work out for any reason they are eligible to exchange the pet at no additional cost, pending adoption approval, within 1 year of the date of this adoption.
The adopter(s) agrees that the pet will not be chained or tethered as a means of restraint.
The adopter(s) agrees that they will not use this pet for any purpose that may result in the animals' injury or death, including, but not limited to, fighting, sacrifice, racing, baiting, or as a food source, and that any issues of this type will be reported to authorities and pursued by Innocent Angels Sanctuary to the fullest extent of the law.
The adopter(s) agrees that any action or negligence on the part of the adopter(s) or anyone in their household that results in the injury, harm, or death of this pet, including, but not limited to, denying the pet adequate food, water, shelter, space, and/or immediate veterinary treatment of illness or injury will be reported to authorities and Innocent Angels Sanctuary will pursue damages on behalf of the pet to the fullest extent of the law.
The adopter(s) agrees that Innocent Angels Sanctuary shall retain superior title in this pet, limited to, and for the express purpose of assuring the pets' well-being and only exercise its superior claim in the event it appears to Innocent Angels Sanctuary officers or volunteers that the proper and humane care as specified in these adoption provisions is not being afforded to the pet, in which case the pet may be taken through claim and delivery proceeding.
The adopter(s) agrees that if there is any breach or default of the terms of this contract and the pet must be redeemed through a claim and delivery service that the adopter will be held liable for all court costs and fees for the adopter(s)' attorney and for the attorney acting on behalf of Innocent Angels Sanctuary.
The adopter(s) agrees that Innocent Angels Sanctuary officers or volunteers may follow up on this adoption for the sole purpose of determining compliance with the terms within this contract at any time during the lifespan of the pet.
The adopter(s) agrees that if the terms of this contract are not upheld by the adopter(s) and/or any misrepresentations have been made to Innocent Angels Sanctuary by the adopter(s), Innocent Angels Sanctuary reserves the right to terminate the contract and the adopter(s) will agree to allow a representative of Innocent Angels Sanctuary to reclaim the pet without notice or refund.
By signing below, I/We assert that, to the best of my/our knowledge, all of the above statements are TRUE and I/We agree to abide by these statements for the natural life of the pet that I/We am/are adopting. I/We also assert that the name(s) and signature(s) below are those of the adopter(s) whose names appear on the adoption application and adoption contracts.
Photo release: May we use any adoption photos/videos of you and/or your family members on our social media sites, websites, on flyers, etc. for the purposes of promotion and interest to our fans and supporters?
